Google Checkout

I FINALLY got Google Checkout working the way I want it to on The People's Ticket and it's actually a really great tool (ironic that I mastered implementing Google Checkout the day there was an article about how great Google Checkout is on the cover of the Business section of NYTimes . When a customer purchases tickets Google Checkout sends a few notifications including a new order notification and a notification indicating the customer's credit card is chargeable. This is key to the functionality of The People's Ticket as tickets aren't actually released to the customer until after their card has been charged.

Jesse's Junk

Coming soon...Jessesjunk.com. Ever since Google announced that Google Checkout isn't charging any transaction fees for sellers until at least December 2007 I have been thinking about what I could sell online. Last night a light bulb clicked in my head when The Lubin mentioned selling his TV on ebay. Why use ebay when they charge listing fees? That's where the idea of Jessesjunk.com was born.

Update-Jessesunk.com is taken!!! I might have to buy Jessiesjunk.com instead.

The People's Ticket

My first quest to invent something cool is thepeoplesticket.com.

My college roommate and I had an idea for a ticketing website. I thought it would be fun to do all the development on my own so I could learn some stuff and polish up my programming skills. It also gave me an opportunity to use some Google APIs (Maps and Checkout specifically.) Check out the site and play around The People's Ticket . Let me know if you find any bugs!

Eventually I'm going to post more ideas to get some feedback from the people.
